Palanga Amber Museum

Project start2013

The project of restoration of the Amber Museum's representational part of the manor and adaptation thereof to meet the needs of cultural tourism has been implemented since 2013.

The roof of the manor, which was built by the family of Counts Tiškevičiai, has already been restored – wooden structures and copper coatings were replaced; roofing was thermally insulated. Works are further being carried on in the museum's internal premises – walls and ceilings are being refitted and painted; parquet floors, internal staircases, doors and windows are being restored. Façades are being renewed, and mouldings adorning them are being reconstructed along with mouldings present in the museum's internal premises.

Here, as per historical material, one of this manor's hallmarks – a stonework fireplace – will be reconstructed.

The value of restoration works – 2.4 million LTL (695,088 EUR).
